Description
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
B2B marketing, strategy, innovation, and business development professionals who need to anticipate market disruption, identify emerging opportunities, and make better long-range decisions in fast-changing environments.
WHAT YOU LEARN
- Understand Strategic Foresight Fundamentals: Distinguish futures studies from prediction, grasp how change happens across STEEP domains (Social, Technological, Economic, Environmental, Political), and apply the Six Steps of Foresight Methodology to frame, scan, future, vision, design, and adapt.
- Apply the Futures Triangle and Three Horizons: Use the Futures Triangle to analyze the Weight of the Past, Push of the Present, and Pull of the Future driving change — then map signals across the Three Horizons (now to 5 years, 5-10 years, and 10+ years) to identify where transformation is emerging.
- Identify Weak Signals and Wild Cards: Recognize early indicators of change before they become obvious, distinguish weak signals from TIPPs (Trends, Issues, Plans, Projections), and develop organizational strategies for responding to low-probability, high-impact wild card events.
- Execute the Scanning Process — Find, Collect, Analyze: Systematically search for signals across diverse sources, document and tag findings in a central repository, and analyze patterns and implications using structured frameworks including the Anatomy of a Signal scoring model.
- Apply Scanning to Strategy and Everyday Decision Making: Integrate scanning as a continuous organizational practice — from focused project scanning to daily ‘Forever Scan’ habits — and translate foresight insights into strategic planning, scenario development, and more confident decisions.
